Japanese NLP: breaking the language barrier

Why does it seem that few Japanese alternative data providers adopt natural language processing technology? When a Japanese provider claims to adopt AI-driven NLP for sentiment analysis, we often find it comprises little more than user ratings and supervised text classification. In this report, we will explain the challenges in Japanese language text mining and highlight a few vanguard providers tackling such obstacles in Japan.
