Global labour markets have been facing increasing pressure. Skills shortages and imbalances in the demand-supply of labour have been driving inflationary pressures. More recently, recessionary conditions have increased concerns of mass layoffs. In this report, we summarise the alternative data sources that offer more timely insights into global labour markets, ahead of official statistical releases. We also highlight leading indicators of employment statistics during economic downturns and where to find early signals for labour market churn.
