Farah started in the alternative data space by providing patent intelligence to public and private equity investors. In conjunction, Farah worked with corporate research & development departments from a broad range of industries.

Farah has an LLB in Law from Durham University.

Ian heads the Client Engagement group at Neudata, as well as its busy programme of events. He has spent the last six years helping asset managers, investment banks and retailers to get value out of traditional and alternative data. Prior to that, Ian's experience encompassed analytical and commercial roles at Vodafone, Bank of Scotland and Liberty Mutual.

Ian holds an MA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, and a Saltire Fellowship in Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Massachusetts.

Jason DeRise, CFA is the Head of Data and Analytics Products at Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI). LMI’s mission is to create capital that allows Liberty Mutual’s customers to embrace today and confidently pursue tomorrow. Prior to joining LMI, Jason was a founding member and Head of Data Strategy at UBS Evidence Lab. UBS Evidence Lab is a sell-side team of experts that work across 55+ specialized areas creating insight-ready datasets. The experts turn data into evidence by applying a combination of tools and techniques to harvest, cleanse, and connect billions of data items each month. The library of assets, covering 5000+ companies, across all sectors and regions, is designed to help answer the questions that matter to investment decisions. Jason is also the founder of DataChorus LLC, which provides advisory services for data companies to help generate actionable insights for business professionals and investors at scale, powered by data and technology. Earlier in Jason’s career he was a top-rated Senior Sell Side Research Analyst covering consumer sectors, including the European Beverages sector while based in London and the US Staple Retailer sector while based in New York City. He’s CFA Charterholder and graduated from Syracuse University Whitman School of Management with degrees in Finance and Accounting, and a minor in economics.

Hi, Jason Koulouras, or Jason K as well, I am delighted to be a customer of Neudata and involved in the alternative data space.  Recently, Neudata requested me to step up my engagement, resulting in me being here today as part of this distinguished panel.

I have 38 years of working experience in the capital markets, of which the past 28 years relate directly to the Market, Research and Reference Data practices. Combining vendor, sell-side, buy-side, and exchange experience, my intent is to bring a quality voice from the buyside/consumer camp that is both advocacy leading and practically workable, striving to bring both relationship management and longer-term perspective as the essential attributes and goals.

The most rewarding aspect of my professional opportunities is my commitment to take calls, with folks seeking to enter/transition into the capital markets industry, as part of my core values of helping people.  At its core, I design my role as Servant-Leader, something I had an idea of what that was in the mid-90’s and have continued to evolve, refine, and grow over time.  To close, I also love reading books, especially about subjects I have little or no understanding of, to constantly push the horizon broader of realizing how much I don’t know, achieving continuous growth and learning.

Jessica advises leading private fund managers on regulatory and compliance issues relating to the use of alternative data, expert networks and other forms of non-traditional research, and emerging technologies like generative AI.

She provides guidance on every stage of the onboarding process, from contract negotiations and due diligence to data integration, and counsels new and existing users on developing policies and procedures that are consistent with the expectations of the SEC and other regulators. Jessica also has extensive experience in negotiating licensing agreements, cloud services agreements and other third-party vendor agreements, and in establishing policies and procedures designed to address the related risks.

Having started her career at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP in the Investment Management Group with a focus on fund formation, and subsequently having worked in house for 10 years prior to returning to the firm, Jessica has advised on both the business and regulatory aspects of operating private investment funds. Through this experience, Jessica gained an understanding of the differing needs of the front, middle, and back office that she brings to her practice today.

John is the Head of Sales for Financial Services at Placer.ai. Before joining Placer in 2023, he was the Head of Sales for the Investment vertical at Similarweb. John has spent the last 10 years in the data space helping startups improve their internal and external sales processes to enable scaled operations. His focus the last 5 years of his career has been in working with systematic and fundamental teams in their use of data across the investment lifecycle in both public and private markets.

Julia has over four years of experience as an analyst and account manager in consulting and financial services. Prior to Neudata, Julia worked at Macrobond Financial, the Foresight Factory and Gatehouse Advisory Partners. As an analyst, she covered a broad range of topics and sectors, including consumer trends, retail investing and the global macroeconomy.

Julia holds an MSc in Economy, Risk and Society from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics, Politics and Sociology from the University of Westminster.

Prior to joining Mane Global, Kanwal spent five years in the alternative data space at 7Park Data as a Data Scientist catering to clients on the buy side. She holds a Master of Science in Finance and Risk Engineering from NYU and Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from LUMS, Pakistan.

Kate Higgins is the Director of Alternative Data at AnthologyAI (parent company of Caden), focused on leading the sales effort and building client relationships within the financial services industry. With nearly two decades of sales & relationship management experience focused on data, research and analytics for the buy side, Kate strives to inform institutional investors about the unique potential of AnthologyAI’s data collection methodology and the alpha-generating products they are building.
