Neudata has produced a white paper that summarises the current state of the Chinese alternative data export landscape, as of November 2021.

Compiled by Neudata’s leaders in Chinese alternative data research, this paper contains our extremely contemporary findings on the attitudes to and implications of China’s new regulatory policies toward alternative data. We’ve spoken to dozens of alternative data vendors to uncover the answers to the following questions:

  • What data laws exist in China and how will their enforcement impact the collection of Chinese data?
  • What constitutes a “cross-border data transfer” in China?
  • What should international investors do to keep engaging with the Chinese economy through alternative data?
  • Which China data vendors are discontinuing their data or moving operations offshore to comply with the new laws?
  • Should data buyers build local data infrastructure outside of the US/UK/EU?

If you have access to Neudata Scout, please log in to view a copy of the paper.

For those without access, you can download a copy of the report here until Friday, December 17, 2021.
