Investment research platforms AlphaSense, Sentieo merge
Sondra Campanelli, Head of News and Marketing (London)
Investment research platform AlphaSense has acquired competitor Sentieo.
Both firms allow customers to semantically search financial documents, like SEC filings, earnings call transcripts, trade journals, news and more.
Sentieo will operate under its current management and customers will continue to receive the same products and services as before. Over time, the pair will collaborate to enhance the functionality and content of the AlphaSense platform.
The acquisition is consistent with AlphaSense’s other expansion plans – last October, it bought Stream by Mosaic, which provides expert interview transcripts.
The announcement also shed light on the two company’s customer bases. The Sentieo acquisition would give AlphaSense over 1,000 new customers, including over 800 institutional investment firms. AlphaSense also added 600 new enterprise clients over the past year and grew its user base by 2.5x.
