After we welcomed 350 delegates from across the investment management community to the Neudata London Summit 2018, we are delighted to announce the Neudata New York Conference this May.
The theme of this event will be ‘going Quantamental’; decoding what Quantamental really means, and providing tools, hints & tips, and examples of integrating data for Fundamental investors. We will also examine the opportunities this movement presents for Quantitative investors, and the ecosystem of service and data providers.
Neudata will partner with a roster of leading providers and partners to deliver panels, workshops, seminars and provider meetings on this focused day of learning.

Chris Petrescu is Head of Data Strategy at ExodusPoint Capital. Previously, Chris was a data strategist at WorldQuant LLC. Before joining WorldQuant LLC, Chris worked at iHeart Radio as a Manager of Financial Planning & Analytics as well at PepsiCo as Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. Chris has his MBA from NYU Stern and earned his Bachelors of Science in Financial Economics at SUNY Binghamton.
David is Managing Director, Quantamental Research at S&P Global Market Intelligence. Most recently David was an associate partner and vice president at Wellington Management Company LLC, where he constructed quantitative stock selection models and managed international equity portfolios. Prior to joining Wellington, he worked at Colonial Management Associates as a fixed- income portfolio manager and researcher. He began his career at Fidelity Management and Research as a fixed-income quantitative analyst. David received his MSF from Boston College, and BS in Finance from Bentley College. He is also a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance, the CFA Institute, and the Boston Security Analyst Society. In recent years, David has taught graduate and undergraduate classes as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Bentley University.
Evan Reich is the Head of Data Strategy and Sourcing at Verition Fund Management, a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund, with both quant and fundamental groups across a diverse set of global asset classes. Prior to Verition, Evan was head of data strategy and sourcing at Quandl, the alternative data arm of Nasdaq. Before that, he was head of data at BlueMountain Capital Management, worked at Millennium Partners, and SAC Capital.
Nick Taylor is currently a Market Data Manager at Schonfeld were he primarily focuses on data sourcing for the firm’s quantitative teams. He joined Schonfeld in January 2018 after having worked at Guidepoint for a number of years, most recently as a Strategic Partnerships Associate within the Data Insights team.
Olga Kokareva - Head of Data Sourcing and Strategy at Quantstellation, a multi-strategy, multi-horizon quantitative trading group. In her role Olga is responsible for proactive sourcing of traditional and alternative data sets, building strategic data partnerships and managing full cycle of data acquisition.
Mr. DeVincentis is Director of Data Science, Equity. He is responsible for the oversight of a team which serves as the bridge between the investment, technology, and data groups, bringing an innovative perspective in implementing data science in the equity research process. Before joining PanAgora, he was a Director of Quantitative Development within Fidelity Investments, where he was responsible for teams that worked closely with Global Asset Allocation research which rapidly developed advanced portfolio analytics. Prior to Fidelity, he held various engineering roles developing portfolio optimization algorithms and investment management systems.
Currently the Head of Data Strategy at Jump Trading, a quantitative trading firm. At Jump, Stewart drives the Data Strategy Group to remain on the vanguard of current data-sphere and research methods. Stewart also collaborates with Jump Capital, Jump's venture capital endeavor, to seek out promising investment opportunities in the FinTech space. In the 19 years prior to joining Jump in mid-2017, Stewart has held similar roles at PDT Partners, Cubist Systematic Strategies, and HBK Capital Management.
Andreas Zagos is one of the founders and management partners of the German Intracom Group. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, and is nominated as Guest Professor in several universities/research centres. Since 1995 Andreas’ research field has been the management of intellectual property rights (IPRm), ie patent valuation. He has published several research papers and one patent application. He has led several national and European joint research projects in the area of IPR.
Andrew Robson is President of Earnest Research. He joined Earnest after over ten years with Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), the leading platform for professional expertise and insights. Andrew was a member of GLG’s executive team, most recently as Head of Business Development for the firm’s largest business unit. He held a variety of product, service, and business development leadership roles throughout his GLG tenure. He holds a MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from Syracuse University.
Daryl is Head of Research at Neudata. He and his team are responsible for researching and discovering alternative datasets for a wide range of asset managers worldwide. In doing so, Neudata are able to deliver objective advice to clients on exactly which datasets are most appropriate for their investment strategy.
Simon is SVP of Research at Neudata, and is responsible for helping clients identify the right sources of alternative data for their investment needs. Prior to joining Neudata, Simon was an equity research analyst at Fidelity International where he covered consumer, retail, and agricultural companies. Simon holds a first-class degree in Classics from the University of Oxford.
Matin founded Quantxt in 2013 specializing in Search and Natural Language Processing offering solutions for advanced discovery in unstructured content for financial, legal and healthcare clients.
Matin started his career in as a scientist at BBN Technologies (also known as Raytheon BBN Technologies) where top world scientists in the fields of Speech Recognition and Machine Translation were pushing the boundaries of the technology on DARPA funded projects. He moved into finance and joined BlackRock, working on high-performance analytics systems used by traders and asset managers, and after that Thomson Reuters building advanced systems for analysis of financial content using Machine Learning techniques.
Matin holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
Carson Boneck, CFA, Chief Data Officer, Balyasny Asset Management
Carson Boneck leads Balyasny Asset Management’s data science, data management, and data technology efforts across all of B.A.M.’s fundamental and quantitative strategies. He joined B.A.M. in 2016. Prior to Balyasny, Carson led S&P Capital IQ’s Investment Management business, and he has built data science organizations at both start-ups and large Fortune 500 companies.
Benny Wong is a Vice President and the lead analyst for the North American Refining and Canadian Oil & Gas industries. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2013, he worked at Canaccord Genuity for seven years covering Canadian E&P and Oil Sands. Benny obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Haskayne Business School at the University of Calgary.
Drew Venker is an Executive Director and lead analyst for the mid-cap Oil & Gas Exploration & Production (E&P) sector. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2012, he worked at Lazard Capital Markets covering mid- and large-cap E&P. Before joining Lazard, Drew covered E&P and upstream MLPs at Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, he worked in equity research at Petrie Parkman, covering commodities and E&P. Drew earned a degree in Economics from the University of Colorado and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Tipsy Talwar is an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, and Americas Head of Systematic Advisory Sales (SAS). SAS is responsible for marketing and distribution of Morgan Stanley’s Quantitative Assets (MSQA) to our institutional clients; these assets include, among others, quantitative Research, data driven Research, Alpha Capture, data services and quant and data focused content and events. Prior to joining SAS in 2017, Tipsy was a senior member of Morgan Stanley’s Electronic Trading (MSET) desk, where she covered quantitative hedge funds trading into Americas for nine years. Before that, she helped build the firm’s electronic trading systems for the Market Making and later the Swaps desks.
Tipsy received her BS and MS in Computer Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and her MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business. She lives in NYC with her husband and two daughters.
Nick is a Senior Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the Investment Analytics & Insights (IAI) team that applies advanced analytics to discretionary investing at CPPIB. The team invests directly using alternative data and supports other investment teams at the fund with data science and data engineering capabilities. He joined CPPIB in 2011 in the Fundamental Investing team within the Public Market Investments department and focused on the Technology sector. He then transitioned to Thematic Investing where he managed a public equity portfolio focused on mobile technology. Prior to joining CPPIB, Nick spent 6 years in design and product management roles in the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and ATI Technologies. Nick holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a BASc (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Waterloo.
Brad Lau is the Deputy COO of Surveyor Capital, a global, multi-manager equity strategy that is one of the three core fundamental equity businesses at Citadel. Brad joined Citadel in 2014, and he started Citadel’s Data Services team within Surveyor Capital.
Prior to joining Citadel, he served as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Administrative Officer and Head of Fixed Income at Point72.
Brad received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting from Miami University.
Norman Niemer is the Chief Data Scientist within UBS Asset Management's Quant & Data Science (QED) team where he delivers data-driven investment insights. He is also responsible for both the business as well as technical aspects of multiple innovation projects that augment human decision makers with machine intelligence. Prior to UBS Asset Management, Norman led the data science efforts at UBS O'Connor, worked as an investment analyst at Caxton Associates and Morgan Stanley and even founded a tech company in high school. Outside of investment management, he has led teams that built data- and AI-based products that won several high profile hackathons including Techcrunch NY, Fintech NY and Mastercard Masters of Code NY. He holds a MS Financial Engineering from Columbia University and a BS in Banking and Finance from Cass Business School (London).
Dawson Smith is the VP, Head of Sales for the Equities group at 1010data and has been with the company for 5 years. He is responsible for new and existing client management and data product strategy. Prior to 1010data, Dawson had similar responsibilities at Guidepoint Global and Majestic Research. He graduated cum laude from Boston College.
Wei Pan is a renowned researcher in big data and finance. He has spent the last eight years studying, measuring and predicting human and economic activities using modern sensing and modeling techniques. Pan previously worked at Fidelity Investments under the Chief Economist where he focused on systemic research and the Flash Crash. He also worked at Google Research China on Google’s first real-time indexing system. Pan holds a PhD in Computational Social Science from the MIT Media Lab.
Anju Marempudi is the founder and CEO of IntelliBusiness, Inc. d/b/a EventVestor, the most comprehensive smart data platform for event-driven first-order alternative data. Anju works with major quantitative and quantamental investment firms, providing data and insights into key corporate market-moving events including hard and soft catalysts and hundreds of event-driven features. Anju has over two decades of experience in financial services, investment analysis, management consulting, and information technology. Anju holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and currently the Chair of The Wharton Fintech Network of the Wharton Club of New York.
Brad Schneider is the Founder and CEO of Adaptive Management. Throughout his career, Brad has focused on using alternative data to improve decision making and prediction. Brad was previously a Portfolio Manager at Tiger Management, and Managing Director at Jericho Capital, a $2bn AUM TMT-focused hedge fund. Prior to Jericho, Brad also worked at Palo Alto Investors as an equity analyst and was a co-founder and head of product development for InfoLenz, a predictive analytics company. Brad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a CFA charterholder.
Brandon began his data science career as a student of human behaviour, earning a BS in Neuroscience from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Yale University. Brandon joined Second Measure in 2017 to develop new ways to analyze consumer behaviour and to collaborate with clients, data scientists, journalists and academic researchers using Second Measure's data set of billions of U.S. consumer transactions. In addition to publishing some of these discoveries on the company's research blog, he also works with external journalists (at outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The Economist and the Financial Times) to help surface Second Measure's data in the press.
Rachel So works in Data Sourcing and Strategy at Balyasny Asset Management, with particular interests in Healthcare and Industrials. Rachel previously worked at Oppenheimer & Co and JPMorgan Chase, and has a BS from New York University and MBA from Pace University.
Ryan Gross is the Head of East Coast Accounts for YouGov’s Data Products. He is responsible for renewal sales, client management and ongoing product development of YouGov’s Data Products offerings.
Prior to joining YouGov he was an Account Executive at Yelp driving the full sales cycle to attain new business and earned a BA at New York University.
Jonathan Berkow is the Director of Data Science in the equities division at AllianceBernstein. He leads the research and adoption of alternative data in equity research and systematic strategies. Prior to joining AB in 2018, he was a systematic portfolio manager and researcher at the hedge funds Element Capital and Kepos Capital. He started his career at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he managed quantitative research and was a portfolio manager for global equity portfolios. His research has spanned both equities and macro asset classes. He graduated from MIT with a degree in economics.
