Alessandro Balata is partner and portfolio manager at Fasanara Digital, the crypto arm of Fasanara Capital.
Alessandro has a background in Applied Mathematics and Stochastic Control. His research activity in numerical techniques granted him a PhD from the University of Leeds, where he was previously awarded with a Master degree in Financial Mathematics. He co-founded Fasanara Digital in 2018, and today he is responsible for the Research and Development activities.
Sophie Beland is Head of the EMEA Systematic Advisory Sales team, as well as Co-Chair of the Net East Asia Employee Network in EMEA. The Systematic Advisory Sales team is responsible for distributing Morgan Stanley’s Quantitative Assets to institutional clients. Prior to this Sophie was a member of the client business analytics group at Morgan Stanley in the Equity Division.
Sophie has a B.A. in International History from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Andrew Bernstein is the Head of Sales Strategy & Operations at SESAMm and leads their business development team across global finance and corporate markets. Andrew has worked in the fintech and alternative data industry for over 20 years at firms including Refinitiv, Acuris, AlphaSense, and Bloomberg.
Andrew studied Commerce with French at the University of Birmingham.
Alexios has been the Head of the Statistical Arbitrage Alpha team since 2018, having joined CFM in 2012 as an equity quantitative researcher. He has also developed the alternative data approach for CFM, as well as worked on the development of the Data Analytics team. Before joining CFM, Alexios spent 6 years at the CNRS as a researcher in quantum optics and nanotechnology and 2 years at the University of Geneva focused on quantum information.
Alexios holds a PhD and Masters in Physics from Paris XI University.
Sanne de Boer is director of Quantitative Equity Research at Voya Investment Management responsible for overseeing the firm’s quantitative equity research agenda. Prior to joining the firm, he was a senior research analyst for quantitative strategies for Invesco. Previously, he was a research analyst for global quantitative equities at QS Investors as well as ING Investment Management, Voya’s predecessor firm. Sanne’s research has been published in the Journal of Asset Management, the Journal of Index Investing, and the Journal of Investing. He received a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Econometrics cum laude from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Michel Bohn serves as Sensor Tower’s Chief Compliance Officer and has deep experience advising technology companies on complex intellectual property and data protection issues. Michel believes it is essential for all companies that deal in data to actively manage the burgeoning legal and compliance risks and requirements related to privacy, security, IP, and securities, and that a compliance program must be continually developed and have buy-in and participation from everyone at the company to be successful and ensure the company’s long term success and viability.
Leveraging his software, engineering, and legal background, Michel has assisted numerous innovative VC-backed startups and premium mid and large-cap high-technology companies in evaluating complex data science, machine learning, and data aggregation methodologies to ensure they are appropriately protected and that these companies have the requisite compliance practices and procedures in place to address the risks presented by the changing regulatory and legal landscape.
When not advising on legal issues, Michel enjoys traveling and spending time biking, hiking, and skiing with his four kids.
Barney joined Neudata in 2021 as an ESG analyst, having previously worked for three years at an executive search firm executing mandates across distribution and investment roles. During this time, he also led the Asset Management Practice’s intelligence gathering and analytics.
He holds an MA in History from the University of St Andrews.
Brian Callahan is a Product Manager at Facteus where he helps asset managers find new ways to integrate alternative data into their investment process. He joined Facteus after six years at 1010data where he was exposed to the best practices and pitfalls behind data integration across a variety of strategies while working with everyone from data scientists to portfolio managers.
Prior to joining 1010data in 2016, he was a member of a strategy team at American Express where he translated corporate card spend patterns into actionable insights. He started his career on the buy-side at Elm Ridge Management as an Equity Research Analyst who also managed the fund’s forecasts of macroeconomic indicators.
He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance while also majoring in Philosophy.
Mohammed has nearly 15 years of experience of forecasting the UK economy and credit markets. Thanks to his forecasting, Consensus Economics ranked Experian as the most accurate UK forecaster in 2019. Alongside successfully leading the Market Intelligence team, Mohammed’s remit includes account management of key clients, new product innovations and supporting marketing activities.
Jeff is responsible for Data Sourcing & PM engagement across BAM’s Global TMT & Consumer Equity teams. In this role, Jeff works with investors across both L/S & Quantitative strategies. He joined Balyasny in May 2017 after roles at 7Park Data & JNK Securities focusing on Institutional Data & Research sales.
Don is the General Counsel of Neudata. In addition to managing the company's legal affairs, Don leads the review of the compliance and regulatory aspects of new datasets and assists with product development. He previously served as Legal Counsel at Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP, where he onboarded third party research providers and conducted related due diligence. Don started his career as a research analyst on a merger arbitrage trading desk.
Don holds a JD from the Fordham University School of Law and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis. He has received CIPP/E and CIPP/US certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Vincent Fourcaut is co-founder, CEO and Co-PM for Paris-based Quantology Capital Management, a quantitative and systematic asset management company managing long and short positions on US and European equities in three different strategies. Prior to Quantology, Mr. Fourcaut was Senior Equity Financial Analyst on the €1B+ Echiquier Major Fund at La Financière de l'Echiquier (2009-2012) and Equity Analyst on French Small & Mid Caps at Berenberg Bank (2006-2009).
Matt brings more than 5 years of finance and investment experience. He previously worked as an Equity Research Analyst at Compass Point Research & Trading covering financials and fintech stocks. Matt graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Finance, and is a CFA Charterholder.
Victoria is responsible for the management and development of JTC’s ESG Service offering to clients and supports JTC Plc’s ESG Strategy.
She is a Certified Chartered Accountant with 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Previous roles include Head of Depositary and Post-Trade Compliance services for SS&C Technologies where she worked for six years. She’s held senior roles within AXA Investment Manager, BNY Mellon and Kingston Smith. Victoria has conducted bespoke projects, including working with Fundsmith to assist with their oversight and supplier governance framework for the Equity Fund when it launched in 2011.
Victoria served for six years as the Deputy Chair of the ACCA Women’s Network and acts as an advisor to the ACCA Financial Services Network. She regularly features as a guest speaker on Sustainability related topics and led the 2018 International Women’s Day celebrations. She was a member of the Advisory Board of GirlsTalkLondon for three years, which is an award-winning organisation that connects women with businesses. She volunteers via Inspiring the future, a non-profit organisation helping future generations explore opportunities in the world.
She holds the Investment Operations Certificate awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, Certificate in ESG Investing with the CFA Institute, Certificate in Sustainability within Finance, awarded by ACCA and Certificate in Leading Sustainable Organisations, Certificate in Private Markets – both awarded by Oxford Said Business School.

Peter is the head of data science at RavenPack. Since joining RavenPack in 2008, he’s been a pioneer in the field of applied news analytics bringing alternative data insights to the world’s top banks and hedge funds. Peter has more than 15 years of experience in quantitative finance with companies such as Standard & Poor's, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Saxo Bank.
He holds a Master's degree in Quantitative Finance from Sir John Cass Business School along with an undergraduate degree in Economics from Copenhagen University. Peter is a recognized speaker at quant finance conferences on alternative data and AI, and has given lectures at some of the world’s top academic institutions including London Business School, Courant Institute of Mathematics at NYU, and Imperial College London.
Peter is a co-founder and CFO of Fable Data, the leading European consumer data aggregation business. Alongside finance, his strategic responsibilities include compliance and legal, in particular privacy, data ethics and governance, and commercial licensing.
As well as thirty years experience at Finance Director level, he has also held board-level responsibility for legal, operations, IT and HR. After twelve years in insurance distribution and underwriting businesses, including two years as founder of an electronic distribution start-up, he spent ten years in venture-backed technology-based businesses. Peter has also carried out many short term assignments with early-stage and changing organisations. He has made long-term voluntary contributions to arts and non-profit organisations, as well as consulting in the education sector.
Shane Kehoe, SwissBorg Ventures, Managing Partner leading the team investing on behalf of SwissBorg and the community in the most promising early-stage blockchain technology projects that strategically align with the core values of SwissBorg.
Shane was the Co-Founder at SVK Crypto VC, London. Overseeing the flagship fund which invested into the most promising and early stage blockchain technology projects with investments along side Kleiner Perkins, Google Ventures, Galaxy Digital, Vulcan Capital, Fidelity, Block.One and Alibaba.
An experienced portfolio manager with more than 20 years investment, Venture Capital and Hedge Fund Management experience. Shane is crypto and blockchain obsessed with a deep passion, belief and vision for a decentralised future.
Shane was formerly a Hedge Fund manager and Partner at BlueCrest Capital Management ($35bn AUM) and ran their global equity capital markets business focusing on all global IPO's for the European Equity Long/Short and Emerging Markets fund.
Laurent is Chief Product Officer of CFM, having joined the firm in 1997. He manages product development with a particular focus on evolving CFM’s research and IT capabilities. Laurent originally joined the firm as a researcher to work on Discus, the managed futures/FX program. In 1998, he started focusing on equities to develop the Equity Statistical Arbitrage program before it was launched in 2001. Prior to taking on his current role, he acted as Head of Equity Strategies until 2017. Laurent obtained his PhD in theoretical physics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique de l'École Normale Supérieure.
Ed is VP of Investor Intelligence at Similarweb (NYSE:SMWB). He joined Similarweb’s London office in 2017 to establish the Investor Business unit which provides web and app traffic data to the Asset Management industry. Since then, it has become a leading player in the Alternative Data space. In 2021, he moved to New York to lead the global team. Prior to Similarweb, Ed has worked with many of the world's leading brands, including Google, eBay and Airbnb, shaping their online strategies through digital data. Ed started his career in Investment Banking in London, working at Rothschild and DC Advisory.
Rado Lipuš, CFA is the founder and CEO of Neudata, an alternative data intelligence and SaaS provider. Prior to founding Neudata, Rado's professional experience spans 20 years of FinTech leadership, quantitative risk management and data innovation for the buy-side. An acknowledged expert, Rado is regularly invited to speak about alternative data at conferences and industry events.
Chris Loxston is the Group Leader Football Performance Analysis and Insights at FIFA and now leads a team of football technical experts and data science/engineering specialists to enhance football understanding and improve the experience around the game. Over the last two decades Chris has worked across an array of professional and Olympic sports, harnessing the power of data analytics and video analysis to provide performance impacting intelligence to teams, coaches and athletes
Abby McInnes leads Man's Data Sourcing and Strategy team which is part of Man Data Science. She is responsible for the sourcing and commercial management of data used by Man's investment teams. Prior to joining Man Group, Abby was a Business Evaluations and Operations Analyst at Rolls Royce Aerospace. Abby holds a Master’s degree in Physics from Durham University.
Jonathan Mitchell is an advisor to early stage start ups and an investor. He looks at a variety of sectors but has an interest in marketing and how data can transform this sector in the future. He is currently an investor in Gener8 and sits on their board.
Andy joined in 2021 as the Director of Responsible Investing. He leads Acadian’s global Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) efforts and oversees the firm’s ESG strategies, related research initiatives, and active ownership, in addition to serving as the Chair for Acadian’s Responsible Investing Committee. Prior to joining Acadian, Andy worked as the Director of Applied Data Science at Putnam Investments. Previous to that, Andy was Managing Director and Chief Data Scientist at Deutsche Bank and a Quantitative portfolio manager at APG Asset Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Language Processing from Erasmus University, specializing in the creation of alternative ESG signals; a MSc. in applied statistics from the University of London; and a B.A. and M.A. in economics from the University of Cambridge.
Danielle Mulder is the Group Sustainability Director at the BBC. Danielle has been working in sustainability for 15+ years and has experience working with major global clients and projects that include: AVIVA, London 2012, Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Sydney Metro, Grosvenor, WPP, Network Rail, Burger King and KFC. Danielle is a Net Zero specialist and is leading the Planet Positive program across the BBC Group which incorporates Net Zero and Nature Positive. Previously Danielle was a strategist and management consultant working with KPMG and Accenture globally in London, Sydney and New York. Danielle has an MSc in Environmental Science from Macquaire University in Sydney and an MSc in Computer Science gained at York University.
Adam leads Berkshire Partners’ innovative data science group. In this capacity, Adam harnesses alternative data in public and private equity investing and drives data related initiatives across the investment lifecycle: algorithmic sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company value creation.
Prior to joining Berkshire, Adam worked as a Research Scientist at Harvard Medical School’s Predictive Medicine Group. In this role, he developed advanced predictive models in Medicine and Pharma. Previously, Adam worked as a Data Scientist across multiple industries, leveraging advanced computational methods and Machine Learning techniques to inform strategic direction, design and implement innovative, data-driven processes and systems, and improve performance.
Adam is a MIT System Design and Management Fellow. He received a B.A. from
Harvard University and an M.S. from MIT.
Ed Ralph, CFA, executive director, is a Data Science Strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Based in London, he is responsible for overseeing international data science strategy and the delivery of data science capabilities, including the use of alternative data, into investment processes across asset class. An employee at J.P. Morgan since 2010, he obtained a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Bath and is a CFA charterholder.
Dr. Recce is the Non-Executive Director of Alqami and the Founder/CEO of AlphaROC. He was the first Chief Data Scientist at Neuberger Berman, GIC, the Singapore Sovereign Wealth Fund, and Point72 Asset Management. Prior to this he was head of engineering, modelling and optimization at Quantcast. Earlier in his career, he was Chief Scientist for Fortent, and Searchspace. Dr. Recce has published over 60 peer reviewed papers, holds eleven patents, including one for research of a behavioural biometric called dynamic grip recognition, and is a recipient of the Thomas A. Edison Award (2005). He received his bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of California Santa Cruz and his doctorate in Neuroscience from UCL.
Rani Piputri, CFA, CAIA is the Head of Adaptive Investing at NN Investment Partners, where she is responsible for EUR 6 billion AuM across a broad range of strategies and asset classes. The Adaptive Investing team applies systematic approach to extract inefficiencies in financial markets, by implementing data-driven strategies, inspired by behavioural insights and artificial intelligence techniques.
Rani joined the management board of NN Investment Partners in 2018, after a role as Principal Equity Strategies at Aspect Capital, a London based quantitative multi-asset solution provider. Prior to this, she was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Saemor Capital for ten years, following a position of European Equity Portfolio Manager at Aegon Asset Management from 2004 to 2008. She started her career in 2000 as investment consultant at Ortec Finance.
Rani served as a Board member of the CFA society Netherlands for four years and currently sits in the Education Committee of the Dutch chapter. She is in the advisory board of several organizations, including CFA Institute. She holds a MSc. Degree in Financial Econometrics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Matthew Rothman is a member of the senior management team of the Quantitative Strategies business unit at Millennium Management functioning as the deputy head of the team and the Head of Quantitative Services. He is on the finance faculty at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Matthew has held a variety of positions both in academia and industry. Prior to joining Millennium, Matthew was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where he was the global head of Quantitative Strategies and Solutions for the Securities Division. Immediately prior to that position, Matthew was the global head of Quantitative Equity Research at Credit Suisse. Previously, Matthew was the director of Global Quantitative Macro research at Acadian Asset Management in Boston, a purely quantitative asset management firm with approximately $100 billion in assets under management. He was also the global head of quantitative research at Lehman Brothers and then Barclays Capital, post the Lehman bankruptcy. He has also held senior research positions at Sanford C. Bernstein and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Matthew has served on the faculty in the Economics Department at Brown University and in the Finance Department at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
Matthew is involved with a number of philanthropic institutions, including having served for over a decade on the Board of Directors of the Innocence Project, a non-for-profit committed to the exoneration of the wrongfully convicted through DNA evidence. He also is deeply committed to funding and working with photographers documenting social conflict and civil unrest both domestically and globally.
Matthew earned a BA in philosophy from Brown University, an MA in statistics from Columbia University, and a PhD in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Savvas Savouri has been involved in commercial finance since 1991 and is now a Partner and Chief Economist at Toscafund. Twenty years ago he developed and launched the QuantMetriks earnings simulation model, which is now part of Toscafund. He has taught extensively, in London at the LSE and the University of Woolwich, as well as at Oxford and Moscow Universities, covering statistics, mathematics, and economics. He has authored various academic papers published in peer-reviewed journals. Savvas holds doctoral, masters and bachelor degrees in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics
Ariel is Vice President of Corporate Development at Bright Data for the past year. In this role, Ariel is responsible for the company’s M&A strategy and for strategic partnerships. Over the past year, Ariel led three company acquisitions that drove to substantial company growth. Bright Data is the industry leading web data collection platform serving over 15,000 customers worldwide, Fortune 500 included. For example, 7 out of the 10 leading e-commerce sites work with Bright Data.
Prior to joining Bright Data, Ariel served as CEO of Hola Spark, a video optimization platform, and was VP Business Development at Hola VPN. Ariel comes with extensive knowledge and expertise in business and product development, as well as leading tech focused organizations to significant growth. He has a BSc from TAU in Industrial Engineering and an executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Northwestern University.
Edward Stanley is an Executive Director leading Thematic Research in Europe. Before this he ran the European Business Services sector at Morgan Stanley between 2018-2021. This followed 5 years covering Business Services at Redburn, latterly running the team from 2017. Prior to this, Edward graduated from Cass Business School with an MSc in Investment Management. He graduated from UCL in 2012 and has passed all three levels of the CFA program.
Kristina Ūsaitė is Senior Researcher at Robeco’s Quant Equity Research team. Her areas of expertise include empirical asset pricing, bottom-up stock selection and alternative data research. Kristina joined Robeco in 2017. She studied at Tilburg University in the period 2015-2016. She worked for three years as an Investment Analyst and Treasury Analyst at APG where she started her career in the industry in 2011. Kristina holds a Master’s (cum laude) in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from Tilburg University and a Bachelor’s (cum laude) in Economics from Vilnius University. She is a CFA® charterholder.
Lauren is a recent graduate from University College London, with a Msc in Global Migration. Prior to this she attained her undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds in English and Film Studies with a research focus on postcolonial texts. As demonstrated through her studies, Lauren has an interest in literature and climate governance from a migration perspective, which she continues to explore in her spare time. Her previous work experience is in assisting the implementation of online events at Oxford University Press.
Ian heads the Client Engagement group at Neudata, as well as its busy programme of events. He has spent the last six years helping asset managers, investment banks and retailers to get value out of traditional and alternative data. Prior to that, Ian's experience encompassed analytical and commercial roles at Vodafone, Bank of Scotland and Liberty Mutual.
Ian holds an MA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, and a Saltire Fellowship in Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Massachusetts.
